New City Operations
Atlanta launches with 150 Jaguar I-Pace robotaxis operating across Midtown, Buckhead, and Downtown zones. Dallas begins with 200 vehicles in Uptown, the Medical District, and near Love Field airport. Both cities operate 24/7 from launch. Safety Performance Context
Waymo's published safety data across 50+ million commercial miles shows crash rates significantly below human driving in comparable urban environments: 2.1 crashes per million miles involving contact versus approximately 6.5 per million miles for human drivers in similar conditions. This data is the foundation of NHTSA's certification decision.
Fleet Expansion Plans
Waymo has a pending order for Zeekr RT vehicles (a purpose-built robotaxi from Chinese EV manufacturer Zeekr) beginning delivery in Q4 2026. The Zeekr RT's purpose-built design — roof-mounted sensors, simplified interior, extended-duty-cycle components — reduces operating costs versus the Jaguar I-Pace, improving unit economics as the fleet transitions.
The Competitive Window
