EigenQ, working with a special-purpose acquisition company, secured 45 million dollars in convertible-note financing to speed up commercialisation of quantum-safe security, and is expected to list on Nasdaq in the fourth quarter of 2026. The deal is another sign that money is flowing into protecting data against future quantum computers.
Quantum-safe, or post-quantum, security replaces today's encryption with methods believed to resist attack by powerful quantum machines that do not yet exist but are being actively developed.
What it means: the security industry is preparing years ahead of the threat, which is the right order. Businesses do not need to act now, but the steady funding shows that the encryption underpinning everyday commerce is on a long upgrade path worth being aware of.
