Figure AI said it has surpassed 10,000 deployments across partner warehouses, and is running its first home pilots while expanding factory deployments beyond its original BMW Spartanburg site. The combination of a growing warehouse footprint and early home trials marks an attempt to move from a single industrial use case toward broader settings.
Home environments are far harder than warehouses: they are unstructured, unpredictable and full of people, which is why most of the industry has stayed in controlled sites so far.
What it means: the frontier is shifting from 'can it work in a fixed warehouse cell' to 'can it work in messy, human spaces'. Watch whether the home pilots produce real usage figures or stay demonstrations, because that is where the hard problems live.
