A New Operational Benchmark for Humanoids
Figure announced that its Figure 02 humanoid robot completed a full eight-hour warehouse picking shift at a logistics partner facility in Tennessee without any human intervention — the first publicly documented full-shift autonomous operation of a commercial humanoid robot in an unstructured warehouse environment.
During the shift, Figure 02 processed 1,200 pick-and-place tasks across 340 distinct SKUs, operating in a mixed environment alongside human workers on adjacent aisles. The 98.4% task accuracy rate means 19 items were misidentified or misplaced, all flagged by the robot's onboard confidence monitor and left for human resolution rather than forcing a potentially damaging retry.
How the System Works
Figure 02 uses a vision-language-action model trained on human demonstration data to interpret shelf layouts, read barcode labels, and plan manipulation trajectories on the fly. Unlike fixed-path warehouse robots, the humanoid adapts to aisle obstructions, unstable stacking, and partial obscuration of labels without pre-mapped routes.
The robot charges during a 40-minute mid-shift break, returning to the floor autonomously after charge completion. Facility integration required 11 days of configuration and software calibration — significantly faster than the 6-week integration typical of fixed-arm picking systems.
What Comes Next
Figure plans to scale to 50 units at the same facility by Q4 2026, adding inbound receiving tasks to the picking workflow. The company is simultaneously negotiating deployments with two major e-commerce fulfillment operators and a grocery distribution chain.
