The Center for AI Safety (CAIS) maintains a Wage Loss Dashboard that estimates the cost of AI-attributed layoffs, ZDNet reports. It was updated this month with September data.
It counts just over 117,000 job cuts attributed to AI in the US this year, with estimated annual wage losses of $8.5 billion. It multiplies the number of cuts by the average annual salary.
